If an employee is diagnosed with a terminal illness with less than 12 months to live, they may request a percentage of their life benefit to be paid to them while they are still living. The life insurance amount is then reduced by the living benefit amount. Employees should consult a tax advisor before requesting benefits. A Living Benefit Claim Form
