Empire helps members impacted by Hurricane Sandy 
We’re taking immediate steps to make it easier for our members to get the care they need. 
For medical emergencies, dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room (ER) — or consider an urgent care center.  
Throughout the state of emergency, ER and urgent care doctors caring for affected members will be considered “in-network.”
Prior authorization, pre-certification or referral requirements are not required at this time.
Members with a prescription drug plan who have lost or damaged medication, can get refills at any pharmacy — or shipped to an alternate address.
We’re making our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) resources available to all members affected by this disaster. Call 877-208-8240 for counseling over the phone.
If you need additional help, you can always call the Member Services number on your ID card or select Customer Support on this website.
We’ve put these actions in place to make sure your benefits are there to support you at this crucial time. These steps will be in effect until November 12, 2012 — but could be extended in certain locations.
